For knowledge transfer and the overall overview of the national situations related to the development of ecotourism and sustainable tourism, partners from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia, Macedonia, and Spain have conducted research in their country.
The Country Research constitutes the first phase of the project implementation, and includes the review of theoretical models and recent approaches, the analysis of empirical studies, offers, types, best practices, legal scope as well as the literature review on the relevant topics to project overall development. Thanks to additional interviews with relevant stakeholders such as local development promoters/agents, municipality technicians, technicians, and professionals of the tourism sector, partners have been able to analyze the state of art concerning ecotourism already installed, potential, and restrictions to the development of ecotourism in partners’ countries.
